It's not hard to notice that Binghamton University continues to grow throughout the Triple Cites area. What was once just confined to the Vestal campus, the University has branched out into other communities over the past few decades.

As the campus grows, so does the number of students coming to the Greater Binghamton area for their higher education. Aside from the number of new buildings both on and off campus, it's also evident through the number of graduation ceremonies held at the end of the school year.

For the 2024 spring graduation season, according to the Commencement section of the Binghamton University website, nine graduation ceremonies will be held from May 9th through the 11th, 2024, which is a Thursday through Saturday time frame.

That means roadways around the campus in Vestal will be busy during that time including hotels and restaurants. Downtown Binghamton usually sees an increase in traffic as well as pedestrians. Be aware as you travel through these areas over those three days.

That also means that local traffic will become a bit lighter over the next three months, including the Vestal Parkway, and for those of us who park in the State Street Binghamton ramp, a better opportunity for street-level parking!

According to Binghamton University, all nine graduation ceremonies will be held on campus between the Anderson Center and the Events Center. Over 5,900 degrees will be handed out to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral candidates from the nine graduation ceremonies.

The nine ceremonies include:

Thursday, May 9th:
School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences
Doctoral Hooding Ceremony
Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences

Friday, May 10th:
Thomas J. Watson College of Engineering and Applied Science
College of Community and Public Affairs
School of Management

Saturday, May 11th:
