U.S. News & World Report’s Latest Rankings Of Online College Programs
The publication has just released their 2024 list of the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs. According to U.S. News, the colleges and universities that ranked high on the list “have strong traditional academic foundations based on student-instructor access, graduation rates and instructor credentials” while excelling at educating remotely.
Out of the hundreds of institutions on the report’s list, one university in Western New York ranked higher than any other school in the country.
University At Buffalo Ranked The #1 Online Program In The U.S.

U.S. News & World Report has put the University at Buffalo at the very top of their list of the best online bachelor’s courses in the United States. The publication ranked the SUNY school #1 out of nearly 350 online programs on their list.
UB’s ranking is significantly higher than it was in past years, coming in at #25 in 2023 and #39 in 2022.
U.S. News used several different metrics to determine the status of the schools on their list, including engagement (35%), services and technology (25%), faculty credentials and training (20%), and peer assessment (20%).
UB Scored Better Than Every Other School In This Metric
One of the factors University at Buffalo scored extremely well in was engagement, which measures student satisfaction and instructor responsiveness. UB received a maximum 100 out of 100 in the category; the highest of any school on the list.
The school also scored a 91 in the services and technology metric, which assesses the amount of financial, vocational, and technical support available to distance learners, as well as an 87 in faculty credentials and training, which measures how well a school prepares its instructors to teach remotely.
