New York Governor Andrew Cuomo says rehabilitation work is finished on interstate 88 between Albany and Broome County.

The project in the Southern Tier included improved shoulders, ramps and concrete barriers.

The Associated Press reports that work cost $2.3 million.

Over 25,000 vehicles use the highway daily for business, tourism and resident traffic.  Interstate 88 is the main artery connecting the Southern Tier and Central New York to the state’s capitol.
