Binghamton police have arrested a suspect following a shooting incident at what authorities described as an illegal after-hours business.

Officers were sent a small building at 8 Broome Street around 3:30 a.m. Friday after a report of shots fired.

A spent shell casing was found outside the site across the street from the Binghamton Water Filtration Plant.

The incident happened less than a year after the city issued a lockdown warning to Steven Krauss, a man from Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania who owns the property.

At the time, Krauss told WNBF News nothing illegal was taking place in the building, which was being used a bail bond office and a business called Cannabis Consultants.

Police investigating Saturday's shooting determined a man who had been inside the Broome Street building fired a gun after a group of people after he went outside.

Authorities said 25-year-old Mirso Fafulovic of Binghamton faces two felony counts in connection with the incident. He was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon. Police did not say whether they recovered the gun used in the shooting.

City detectives said investigators found evidence that an illegal after-hours bottle service club was being operated inside the Broome Street building. Police executed a search warrant at the location.

Police are continuing to investigate the shooting and more arrests are expected.

Krauss could not be reached Monday to comment on the latest incident at the Broome Street site.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
