Broome County Sheriff’s Officials are releasing the names of the motorists involved in a fatal crash on State Route 17 in Windsor May 26.

Authorities say 42 year old Scott Gross of Windsor was killed when his Jeep Wrangler, which was disabled on the highway near the Damascus exit at 1:30 a.m., was hit by a tractor trailer driven by 42 year old Anthony Baker of Solvay.

The Jeep was in the right hand lane when it became inoperable.

Baker said he didn’t see the Jeep until it was too late to stop.

The Wrangler was propelled down an embankment and Gross suffered traumatic injuries.

Baker lost control of the tractor trailer and that vehicle also went down the embankment just a few feet away.

Baker was treated at Wilson Hospital for head injuries and released.

The investigation continues.
