A big crowd was on hand for the opening round of the Dick's Sporting Goods Open August 28 entertainment featuring Sam Hunt and Lady Antebellum. Organizers for the event announced Thursday that tickets for the night were sold out.

Golf fans were treated to outstanding play in the opening day of the tournament.  Heading into second round action Gene Sauers and Paul Goydos share a one-stroke lead over John Huston and Ian Woosnam.

Sauers has not won on the Champions Tour but has four top-ten finishes this year and comes into the weekend ranked 19th in the Charles Schwab Cup Standings.  Goydos has a pair of Champions Tour titles including this year's Allianz crown.  The leaders are joined by John Huston, the 2011 Dick's Open winner.
