
Houston Astros Have Binghamton Connection
As you are watching or listening to the World Series between the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals are you aware of the connection there is between Binghamton and the Astros ?
Larry Ness is the Retail Supervisor for the Astros. He was the Head Athletic Trainer for the American Hockey League's Broome Dusters from 1979-80. He moved on to become Assistant Athletic Trainer for the NHL's Minnesota North Stars from 1980-85 and then became Head Trainer for both the Boston Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning. He spent better than two decades working in professional hockey.
Robert Ford is the Play-by-Play Radio Voice of the Astros. Ford joined the Astros broadcast team in 2013. He was the "Voice" of the Binghamton Mets from 2005-2009. He also was the"Voice" of Binghamton University women's basketball from 2006-2009. During that same time frame he was the co-host of the Binghamton Bearcats weekly radio show heard on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
