Homecoming More Than a Game

Homecoming is a festive time for high schools and colleges all around the country.  It's a time when alumni return to their school and rekindle friendships and share memories of what for many was an enjoyable time in life.  Usually the focus of the day or weekend is the football game...often against a long-time rival.  For schools without football teams like Binghamton University other featured events such as soccer matches are highlighted.

While sports often takes the spotlight Homecoming is much more than the game. Hundreds of students get involved, parents, teachers, staff members  and alumni.

Saturday marked Maine-Endwell's Homecoming celebration.  A large parade moved up Hooper Road to the high school.  M-E's band took part along with cheerleaders, members of various sports teams, coaches and dozens of community members including police and fire personnel.  Fire trucks and safety vehicles from the nearby O.L. Davis Volunteer Fire Company also took part in the parade.

On the football field the Spartans did not disappoint their fans.  M-E rolled to A 54-28 victory.
