The Hamlet of Maine is having a big celebration September 14 with performances, art displays, a flea market, children’s activities and food.

Maine Fest is being held in the meadow behind the Maine Federated Church on Route 26 at Lewis Street.

Plein Air painters begin at the crack of dawn with the first musical performance and the start of the Lion’s Club chicken barbecue at 11 a.m.

Everything wraps up with the Maine Acoustic Jam featuring many local musicians 6:15 p.m. 8  p.m.

The Maine Museum building, Nanticoke Valley Historical Society Janet W-Bowers Museum, Schoolhouse Number 4 and Pitcher’s Mill will be open for tours.
