Guilford Board Rules No Adverse Environmental Impact of Planned Wind Farm
Another wind farm development in the area appears to be moving forward.
According to a report in the Binghamton Press & Sun Bulletin, the Town of Guilford Board of Trustees and Chenango County Planning Department have determined there will be no adverse environmental impact on a community sited for the location of 25 wind turbines.
Calpine Incorporated, which is also looking to develop a wind farm in Sanford and Windsor in Broome County, has been working on the High Bridge project in Guilford at the Town of Norwich border.
The project is being reviewed by state regulators and Guilford Town officials say they still want more information from the company on the impact of the development on property values.
September 13, the state siting committee approved the development of a wind farm with up to 68 turbines in Steuben County. The Barons Wind project is being developed by a subsidiary of German energy company Innogy.
