The pandemic may have shut many things down, but it didn’t stop the the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce from acknowledging several key people who have stood out in our community.

According to their press release the Greater Binghamton Chamber of Commerce recognized local businesses and volunteers in a scaled back annual dinner and meeting held last night, with 32 attendees and several virtual guests via Zoom and Facebook.

Among this year’s categories individual awards:

  • Mark Yonaty Development/ Greater Binghamton Development is Entrepreneur of the Year.
  • Patrick Dickerson of Mountain Top Clambakes is Small Business Person of the year.
  • Tim Strong of Visions Federal Credit Union is Volunteer of the Year.
  • Anthony Paniccia of Delta Engineers, Architects and Land Surveyors is the Civic Leader of the Year.
  • Diane Brown of Community Foundation of South Central New York, and LoriAnne Welch of the United Way of Broome, are winners of the Community Champions Award specifically for work during the coronavirus pandemic.

The event took place at the Doubletree by Hilton in Downtown Binghamton.
