A fugitive on the run from police for days is back in custody in Tioga County.

Waverly Police say they arrested 34 year old Brian Belles of Barton at 12:53 a.m. April 26 on Pennsylvania Avenue.

Police say Belles was wanted by the Sheriff’s Department for felony counts of burglary, criminal mischief and grand larceny and by Waverly Police for felony assault, resisting arrest and criminal trespass.

Police tried to arrest Belles on a warrant April 19th but he ran off.

A Waverly Officer received a leg injury during the encounter and required medical attention.

Belles was arrested after trying to get away from police at an apartment he was in, breaking in to a nearby apartment and hiding.

A New York State Police K9 was brought in to help take Belles into custody.

He was sent to the Tioga County Jail on $30,000 bail.
