Officials are looking into the cause of a two-alarm fire that has nearly destroyed a Port Crane sawmill that had been rebuilt after being destroyed by another fire about ten years ago.

Firefighters spent hours on the scene at Kark Lumber on Winn Hill Road after the initial call at around 10 a.m. December 20.

Officials say some workers had been cutting wood when they discovered the fire.  There were no injuries.

Over a half dozen fire companies responded to the scene.
