24-year-old Shannon German of Stamford was found lying in the roadway and authorities say she was hit by an unidentified tractor trailer that continued traveling north following the collision.

New York State Police  tracked down the vehicle in the Schenectady area and identified the driver as 50-year-old Peter Baldauf of Delancy, New York.  He said he did not see German lying in the road and didn’t know he hit her.  He has not been charged.

Route 10 was closed for several hours overnight while the investigation and accident reconstruction were conducted.
