A man who was suspected in the early-morning stabbing of an Endwell woman was discovered hiding in the closet of a bedroom.

Authorities say 28-year-old Joseph March of Montrose has been charged with second-degree assault and second-degree menacing in connection with the incident. He also faces a weapon possession count.

According to the Broome County Sheriff's Office, deputies were sent to a home on Shady Drive early Wednesday to investigate the attack.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a woman who had stab wounds to an arm. She told them she had tried to calm down a relative when he began to act irrationally. He may have been hallucinating when the woman was stabbed.

March was found in a second-floor closet and taken into custody. He was arraigned and sent to Broome County Jail on $10,000 bail.
