A guilty plea in Federal Court for stalking a witness in an earlier case will send an Endwell man to prison for an additional five years.

59 year old Paul Ross has pleaded guilty to interstate stalking of a former witness.

In 2008, Ross pleaded guilty to trying to extort 20-thousand dollars from a victim who helped the FBI and was sentenced to 27 months in prison and 3 years probation.

Officials say as soon as Ross completed his sentence, he immediately began stalking the witness by sending thousands of electronic messages to her, her clients, employees, and the media.  The messages reportedly included threatening photographs and false statements about the witness.

Federal Prosecutors say, in addition to jail time, Ross could be ordered to pay a $250,000 fine.

Sentencing is set for June 4 at Federal Court in Binghamton.
