Two Endicott residents are facing felony drug charges after a search of their Jefferson Avenue home turned up 71 bags of heroin, Alprazolam, metal knuckles and other items.

27 year old Shawn Gibson is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felony criminal possession of a weapon, misdemeanor drug possession, two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child.

19 year old Tamara Barnes is charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, felony weapon possession, misdemeanor drug possession, two counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia, endangering the welfare of a child and felony tampering with evidence.

Members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force say they found Barnes trying to hide 41 bags of heroin on her person.

Authorities say the heroin, drug paraphernalia and metal knuckles were  within reach of a three year old child.

The toddler is now staying with a family member.

Both Gibson and Barnes were sent to the Broome County Jail without bail.
