Tioga and Broome County Sheriff’s Offices are among agencies participating in the semi-annual National Drug Take Back Event sponsored by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Broome County residents can drop off unwanted prescription and non-prescription drugs October 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sheriff’s office on Lieutenant VanWinkle Drive in the Town of Dickinson, south of the SUNY Broome Community College campus, The Windsor Community House on Main Street, the Johnson City Elks Club on Watson Boulevard near the old IBM Country Club, Scoops Ice Cream parking lot on Route 11 in Whitney Point, Vestal Fire Station Number 4 on the Vestal Parkway East and American Legion Post 1700 on Maple Street in Endicott.

In Tioga County, collection will take place at Trinity-CASA in the Old Depot Building across from the Owego Agway, also from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Broome County Sheriff’s Office can accept syringes and sharps in addition to the other medication but the Tioga County location cannot accept liquids or needles of any kind.
