Chenango County Sheriff’s officials report a couple drug busts over the past several days.

June 22, members of the Sheriff’s Detective Division and Norwich City Police responded to a stone quarry off the West Main Street Extension in the Town of Norwich where they found two people in a tent with methamphetamine, precursors to manufacture meth and a fire pit they used to burn methamphetamine waste.

26 year old Amber Towndrow and 30 year old Steven Pighinni, who both said they were homeless, were sent to the Chenango County Jail on $7,500 bail.

The pair is charged with felony unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony unlawful disposal of methamphetamine, and trespass.

Meanwhile, Sheriff’s officials say an Oxford woman is accused of being in possession of cocaine during a traffic stop on County Road 29 in the Town of New Berlin and intended to sell the drug.

20 year old Cheyanne Moore was arrested at around 1 p.m. June 23 and sent to the Chenango County Jail on $10,000 bail.

Authorities say the arrest came from an ongoing narcotics investigation with assistance from Village of Oxford Police.
