The Binghamton Devils got outstanding goaltending from Gilles Senn and went on to defeat visiting Providence 3-1 on Friday night. Joey Anderson scored the first goal of the game for Binghamton and Egor Sharangovich and Colton White also scored to account for Binghamton goals. Senn stopped 25 of the 26 shots he faced.

Jack Studnicka notched the only marker for the Bruins. The win for the Devils who were playing as the Broome County Blades in honor of the team portrayed in the movie "Slapshot"  is their fourth consecutive win. Binghamton is now 8-2-0-0 in the past ten games.

"Slapshot Weekend" continues tonight (Saturday) when Binghamton plays host to the Rochester Americans at 7:05 PM.  Beginning at 5:00 PM the Devils are hosting another VIP reception in recognition of the movie "Slapshot" which was released in 1977 and featured the life of minor league hockey players in the North American Hockey League of which the Broome Dusters were members. Fans holding VIP tickets can attend a discussion with "Slapshot" stars Jerry Houser (Dave "Killer" Carlson), Allan Nicholls (Johnny Upton) and former Duster Frank Hamill who all appeared in the movie.
