Deposit Man Accused of Assault in Delaware Motel Domestic Incident

A Deposit man is accused of attacking a woman in a Delaware County motel room.

Sheriff’s officials say 31 year old Donald Ostrander is accused of using a knife and was in possession of a handgun as part of a domestic incident at the East Branch Motel in the Town of Hancock April 29.

Deputies say the woman escaped and locked herself in another room with a third party while Ostrander fled the scene on foot.

The woman was taken to Delaware Valley Hospital where she was treated for injuries and released.

Ostrander was located in a wooded area near the motel.

Ostrander is charged with felony burglary, felony strangulation, 2 felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon, 2 misdemeanor counts of menacing, misdemeanor unlawful imprisonment, misdemeanor criminal mischief and misdemeanor assault.

He was sent to the Delaware County Jail on $10,000 bail.
