Local law enforcement agencies are reporting a huge amount of drugs have been taken off the streets following a drug bust in Deposit.

Sheriff David Harder says heroin, methamphetamine and fentanyl were seized along with about 24-thousand dollars in suspected drug sales proceeds on November 30 (Friday).

The Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force executed the search warrant and confiscated several kilos of drugs.

Authorities pointed out the recovery of the fentanyl, which has been linked to many deaths due to overdose since the drug is often mixed in with methamphetamine, making an even deadlier dose to users.

About 500,000 doses of fentanyl were included in the bust.
