Prosecutors say Deborah Wagner of Andes had pleaded guilty to defrauding the Social Security Administration.

Wagner was sentenced Thursday to serve two years of probation. She also was ordered to pay $64,196 in restitution for receiving benefits to which she was not entitled.

Authorities say Wagner last August admitted she had provided false information so she could continue to receive the Survivors Insurance benefits she collected from 2006 through 2014, purportedly as a widow.

According to prosecutors, Wagner in 2014 claimed that she was not married when, in fact, she had been remarried in 2006. That marriage made her ineligible to receive benefits.

Senior United States District Court Judge Thomas McAvoy also ordered Wagner to serve 50 hours of community service.
