Delaware County Deer Hunter Banned From Possessing Rifle
Delaware County Sheriff’s officials accuse one sportsman of violating a slew of rules while deer hunting, most notably that he was not supposed to have a gun in the first place.
Sheriff’s Deputies and New York State Environmental Conservation Police December 17 arrested 34-year-old Travis Wildey of Walton. He’s charged with criminal contempt, killing an illegal deer, killing a deer by illegal means, failing to tag a deer and failing to report a deer.
Authorities say they investigated a complaint that Wildey used a rifle to shoot a deer while there was a temporary order of protection against him prohibiting from possessing a rifle.
He was released and ordered to appear in Walton Town Court at a later date.
