25-year-old Austin Parker of Homer was arrested after he attempted to flee and struggled with officers following the September 27 crash in Homer.

Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say they were called to Route 11 shortly after 9 p.m. where they say they found Parker’s 2000 Dodge Pick-up drove off the road, hit the pole, ripped through yards and came to rest in an overgrown field.

After he was chased down and taken into custody, Parker was taken to Guthrie Medical Center for treatment of minor cuts suffered in the crash.

He’s charged with driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration, speeding, crossing hazard markings and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Deputies say the investigation is continuing and more charges may be pending.

Parker was released and ordered to appear in Town of Homer Court later this month.
