Domestic Violence Reported at Couples' Retreat in Virgil

Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]A Cortland County man is facing charges in connection with a domestic dispute that, ironically, happened at a couples’ retreat.

Cortland County Sheriff’s Deputies were called the Hope Lake Lodge in the Town of Virgil Sunday, April 3 and say at around 3:30 that morning 26 year old Evander Gaskin allegedly got into an argument with his wife that turned physical.

Gaskin is accused of grabbing the woman by the face, holding her on the bed and choking her, all while the three year old step-son was present.

Gaskin is charged with harassment, unlawful imprisonment, criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering the welfare of a child.
