Cortland Man Accused of Setting Fire to Dunkin Donuts
A Cortland man is charged with felony arson for allegedly setting a fire at a Dunkin Donuts shop.
New York State Police say 28 year old David Thompson was arrested at 8:56 p.m. June 11.
Officers were initially called to the Walmart in Cortlandville for a larceny where the suspect took off on a bicycle. A short time later, troopers responded to the Dunkin Donuts in Cortlandville for a report of a fire at that location.
The authorities say they determined the fire had been deliberately set and that Thompson also matched the description of the suspect at Walmart.
In addition to arson, Thompson is charged with petit larceny for the incident reported at Walmart. He’s been ordered to appear in Town of Cortlandville Court later for two hearings.
