Chobani: Our Home Is Still In New York

The Chenango County-based Chobani Incorporated has filed an incorporation registration in the state of Delaware. But the company says its home remains in New York state, where it was founded less than a decade ago.

A headline on the New York Post website suggested Chobani's "move to Delaware" indicated the company is preparing to go public.

Chobani representatives won't comment on the possibility of an independent public offering.

Chobani released a short statement saying "like many companies based around the country, Chobani registered in Delaware earlier this year to permit greater flexibility in operating and growing the business."

According to Delaware state records, the incorporation date for Chobani, LLC, was March 6.

The company is indicating it plans no changes in its Norwich corporate office operation or at its manufacturing plant in South Edmeston.

Chobani opened a larger production facility in Twin Falls, Idaho, in December 2012.
