One child was treated for lacerations after a school bus overturned in Tioga County.

According to New York State Police, the crash involved a Candor School District bus. It happened around 10:15 a.m. Thursday on Brink Road in the town of Candor.

Authorities say two children - who are about 10 or 11 years old - were on the bus.

One child sustained a small cut to a hand. The other child and the bus driver were not hurt.

Investigators believe the crash was related to the weather. They say the bus slid off Brink Road and then rolled onto its side.

Icy road conditions in the morning had resulted in Candor and several other school districts delaying the start of classes.

The state police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit was called to the scene to assist in the crash investigation.
