Chenango County Sheriff's officials say a Marathon resident is dead after the motorcycle he was driving collided with a car on State Highway 206 in the Town of Coventry.

Deputies were called to the intersection of Route 206 and Moran Road at 9:24 p.m. September 14 for a crash involving a 1998 Suzuki motorcycle driven by 22-year-old Vincent Corbo of Marathon that collided with a 2010 Hyundai sedan driven by 19-year-old Sean Snyder of Afton that was making a left turn from Moran Road.

Investigators say Corbo was traveling west on State Highway 206 when the motorcycle and car collided as the sedan was making the left turn in a southeasterly direction.

Authorities say Corbo was taken to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center in Johnson City with serious injuries and was later pronounce d dead at the hospital.

Snyder was taken to Wilson Hospital for treatment of a head injury.

Sheriff's officials say the crash is still under investigation.
