A chain-reaction collision during rush hour caused a car to smash into the front of a Johnson City building.

The crash on Riverside Drive between Ackley Avenue and Elfred Street happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

A Toyota Camry crashed into structure at 269 Riverside Drive. The westbound car was struck by another vehicle which was rear-ended by a third vehicle.

The building, which houses a psychologist's office, appeared to sustain minor damage.

Although an ambulance was dispatched to the scene, Johnson City police said there were no reported injuries.

Traffic crawled past the scene of the crash as police officers and firefighters assessed the situation.

Police Thursday night said the incident remained under investigation. It was not known whether tickets will be issued.
