Canton Man Escapes Serious Injury in Bank Collapse/Truck Crash
Pennsylvania State Police say a Canton man is recovering from hand injuries following a crash that left him trapped for a time in his Freightliner cab.
Authorities say 34-year-old Scott Castle failed to negotiate a slight curve on State Route 706 in New Milford at around 4:06 p.m. Tuesday, May 18 and the truck went off the shoulder where the bank’s soil gave way.
The 2007 Freightliner rolled a three-quarter revolution and hit a tree 30-feet down the embankment, coming to rest with the driver’s side against the tree.
Troopers say Castle’s left arm was pinned under the vehicle an he was trapped in the cab. Montrose Firefighters were able to mechanically extract Castle and he was able to walk back up the embankment with minimal assistance.
There was no word on whether there were tickets written in the case.
