Bob Joseph/WNBF News [file][/caption]The head of the Catholic Schools of Broome County says he is moving on at the end of the school year.

Former Binghamton Mayor Richard Bucci has announced he would continue supporting the schools but he will be retiring as President of the local Catholic School System.

Bucci had been serving as President as well as the Principal of Seton Catholic High School until a new Principal was named earlier this year.

Looking back, Bucci said he was proud of expanding advanced placement courses, establishing a pre-engineering curriculum and adding language courses like Mandarin and American Sign Language.

Bucci says people won’t be hearing the last of him following his retirement as he has several opportunities he is pursuing.

The process is underway in the search for a new President.
