The Binghamton Bearcats women's basketball team had their season ended by the Maine Black Bears in Portland, Maine on Saturday in the opening round of the America East playoffs.  The Bearcats finished in fifth place in America East with a record of 8-8 (13-17 overall).

Three Bearcats were honored for their outstanding play during the regular season.  Junior Alyssa James earned her second consecutive Defensive Player of the Year Award.  James was also named as a Second-Team All-Conference selection and a member of the All-Defensive Team. James earned national attention for her 16 points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocks game versus Stony Brook on February 18th.  The 11 blocks broke her own team and conference record of nine and is the most blocks of any Division I women's basketball player this season.

Watkins continues to collect awards as a key Bearcat performer. She earns First-Team All-Conference honors.  She was a Second-Team selection last season and a member of the All-Rookie Team in 2015.  Watkins finished her regular season with a 19.2 points per game scoring average...tied for second in America East.

Kai Moon was named to the America East All-Rookie Team.  She ended the regular season with an 8.6 points per game average and scored 10 points in the Bearcats playoff loss to Maine.  She started every game for Binghamton.
