Long-time coach and administrator Jim Norris highlighted the 20th induction ceremonies for the Binghamton University Athletic Hall of Fame November 21 at the Events Center.  Norris, a Binghamton native, was honored with his Hall of Fame induction along with volleyball standout Jacki Kane from the Class of 2008, Zach Groh honored for baseball, also from 2008 and the 1980 wrestling team.

Norris served Binghamton as a basketball assistant coach and head coach.  He was head coach for four seasons earning 52 victories including 17 wins and a trip to the ECAC Championship game in 1997-98.  He went on to become a senior administrator and Athletic Director before retiring in 2011.  He is currently the boys varsity basketball coach at Windsor High School.

Jacki Kane had a stellar volleyball career and earned all-conference honors in all four of her seasons as a middle blocker.  She is the school's all-time blocks leader with 609, was named the America East Most Outstanding Performer at the 2005 championship and was a six-time Dean's List recipient.

Zach Groh ranks as one of Binghamton's all-time great pitchers.  He was a three-time first team America East All-Conference performer and was named the America East Pitcher of the Year in 2006.  Groh still holds the school record with 24 consecutive scoreless innings pitched.

The 1980 men's soccer team finished with a 12-4-2 record and reached the NCAA quarterfinals after winning the SUNYAC Championship.  They went on to win two NCAA tournament games, both in sudden death of the second overtime, before dropping a 2-1 game at Babson in the NCAA quarterfinals.

The Binghamton University Athletics Hall of Fame now has 100 members.  Award plaques have moved from the West Gym to the Events Center.
