Broome Woman, Dad Charged with DWI in Less Than 3 Hours
A Hillcrest woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated, then her father was arrested for DWI when he showed up at the police station to give her a ride home.
Authorities say 46-year-old Kerie Lake faces charges following a crash Saturday evening. on Hawleyton Road in the town of Binghamton.
Lake wasn't found at the crash scene but she was located later at a residence in the city of Binghamton. She was charged with aggravated DWI, leaving the scene of an accident and speeding. Her blood alcohol content was measured at 0.20 percent.
The woman's father, 70-year-old Leo Lake of Binghamton, was called to the New York State Police station in Kirkwood to pick her up.
Troopers determined he was impaired by alcohol. His blood alcohol content was measured at 0.15 percent. He was charged with DWI.
Kerie Lake was arrested around 8:08 p.m. Her father was arrested around 11:02 p.m.
Both were released on appearance tickets with court dates of July 11. Kerie Lake is to appear in town of Binghamton court and Leo Lake is to appear in town of Kirkwood court.
