Broome Signs on to be a New York Smart Community

Broome County is on board with the New York State Climate Smart Communities program.

The effort helps communities with projects that range from making government office buildings more efficient to improving flood control and mitigation.

Broome County Executive Jason Garnar says participation allows Broome to be recognized for its work to improve the community’s sustainability and will help the County move forward toward energy efficiency and reducing present and future flood risk.
