
Broome Security Officer Who Shot Estranged Wife Has Died
The Broome County Security Division peace officer accused of shooting his estranged wife before turning the gun on himself over the weekend has died.
New York State Police say 38-year-old Timothy Wilcox succumbed to his injuries at a Syracuse hospital following the incident June 19 on Light Road in Harpursville. At last report, 35-year-old Meghan Wilcox was still hospitalized in critical condition.
State Police and Broome County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the home shorty after 10:02 p.m. with a 911 report of a shooting.
A 16-year-old in the home at the time of the shooting was not injured.

Both Timothy and Meghan Wilcox had been transported to Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center while the man was then flown to Upstate University Medical Center in Syracuse where he later died.
The investigation is continuing.
