The Broome County Legislature Committee of the Whole is talking about the future of food services at the Willow Point Nursing Center and other programs for which the Aramark company is preparing meals.

There have been complaints, especially at the nursing and rehabilitation center, about the quality of the food and service provided by Aramark under contract with the county.

Prior to Aramark being hired to provide food services to the nursing home, county jail, senior centers and Meals on Wheels, the food was prepared by Broome County’s own Central Kitchen until lawmakers voted to privatize the work in order to save money.
