Broome Developmental Delaware County Residential Employee Accused of Theft

A Broome Developmental Center employee, in charge of operations at a residential center in Delaware County, is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from residents at the center.

Delaware County Sheriff Craig DuMond says 31-year-old Christina Townsend of Port Crane is charged with felony grand larceny and scheme to defraud.

Dumond says she’s accused of stealing over $12,000 intended for developmentally disabled persons at the Broome Developmental Center residential facility in Franklin.  The Sheriff says the thefts allegedly happened in an on-going scheme over the course of several years.

Townsend was released on her own recognizance pending further court action.
