Chenango Bridge “Batch Coffee” Shop Hiring Just Ahead of Opening
With three Broome County sites offering craft beer, the owners of Beer Tree Brew Co. are almost ready to open their first coffee shop.
Batch Coffee in Chenango Bridge is expected to start operations next month. The shop is located in a newly-renovated building at 70 Chenango Bridge Road.
Beer Tree partner Brendan Harder said he expects about 30 people will be hired for the Batch Coffee operation.
The first open interview hiring event was held Wednesday morning. Another session is scheduled for Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the shop.
In addition to coffee, the business plans to sell pastries as well as breakfast and lunch items. A drive-thru window will be available. A coffee roasting operation also will be part of the 4,000-square-foot facility.
Harder said sourcing materials has been one of the biggest challenges the owners have faced in preparing to open the shop.
The Batch Coffee store eventually will have an on-site driving range. That's expected to go into operation next year.
Harder said he's "super excited" that the shop is about to open. Its "soft opening" is scheduled for September 12.
If the Batch Coffee operation is a success, Harder said he expects more locations could be opened in the future.
