Broome Corrections Officer Among 3 Arrested for Jail Contraband
Broome County Sheriff’s investigators have arrested three suspects, including a county Corrections Officer, in connection with the smuggling of drugs, jewelry and matches into the jail.
Corrections officer Sammy Davis Junior of Endicott, inmate 33-year-old Scott McLean and 21-year old Kathryn Buckley of Binghamton are charged with promoting prison contraband, drug possession and conspiracy.
The Sheriff’s Corrections Division and Broome County District Attorney’s Office conducted an investigation last week after methamphetamine, Adderall pills, suboxone, tobacco, matches, a lighter and jewelry were found to have been smuggled into the Broome County Jail on Upper Front Street.
The three are charged with felony counts with Davis and Buckley released on their own recognizance. McLean is still being held in the county jail.
