Johnson City and Deposit Schools are named the winners in Broome County Executive Jason Garnar’s Challenge for Change competition.

Students were challenged to come up with ideas about how they would better their communities.

Deposit students looked to work with the Village for a memorial square for fallen heroes while Johnson City focused on immunizations in partnership with United Health Services. That plan would provide immunizations at school during the first few weeks of the new school year.

The winners were named based on the scores from a panel of judges.  Each winner was awarded $1,500 to implement their projects.  Runners-up were each awarded $500  to make their projects happen.
