Four taxi cab operators have been ticketed for driving vehicles with too many occupants.

Broome County officials say drivers for Yellow Cab, ACE Taxi, BU Taxi and Campus Taxi were issued tickets for operating overloaded taxis.

One taxi with maximum occupancy of seven was reportedly packed with thirteen people.

The cited drivers were ordered to appear in Vestal town court.

One company - Taximo Taxi Service of Vestal - was suspended from operating in Broome County because of the expiration and non-renewal of taxi licenses.

The county earlier announced the suspension of Best Taxi for several alleged violations.

There's more information about taxi cab regulations and licenses at the Broome County government website.
