The money is part of the second round of the Community Land Trusts Capacity Building Initiative that acquires distressed properties for development into affordable housing.

In a statement from the Attorney General’s office, James say the partnership with local governments can improve local housing conditions and develop future new projects and programs in the state.

The grant is a continuation of the 2017 Community Land Trust Initiative that supported the formation of six community land trusts in the state.
