Binghamton's Ross Park Zoo is teaming up with the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse (CHOW) to collect food for needy families.

Those bringing non-perishable food donations to the zoo on Morgan road on Binghamton's South Side November 24 and 25 will receive free admission to the zoo.

Ross Park Zoo is also open Black Friday if you want to walk off the calories with a walk on the wild side.

Another special event for the zoo is Drop and Shop where parents can drop off their children at the zoo Education Center for a day of fun and activities.  The promotion is being held Saturday, December 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and Sunday, December 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is for children ages 5 to 12.  Registration is required at bit.ly/BingZooDropAndShop.

The zoo will also have a shop of merchandise, memberships and other gift ideas at the Center Court of the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City during the month of December.
