Binghamton’s Kennedy Fried Chicken to Reopen
The Kennedy Fried Chicken restaurant on Binghamton's West Side is expected to resume operations soon.
Regular customers of the small fast-food operation at 159 Main Street were disappointed to find the place closed recently.
But owner Badsha Khan said he's simply getting out of the restaurant business. He said he has sold Kennedy Fried Chicken to a Johnson City man who plans to reopen it.
A sign in the front door of the building at Main and Clark streets promises the place will be up and running again on April 24.
The 63-year-old Khan said he had been "happy to run" the restaurant for many years but he wanted to retire from the business so he could have more free time.
Khan said he'll continue to operate an automobile sales business in Johnson City.
Khan also said the "city was really good with me" in helping to address occasional problems that occurred involving some late-night and early-morning customers.
