Wednesday, May 27 - Sea Dogs - 6  Rumble Ponies - 2

Binghamton used six pitchers, as they fell to Portland, 6-2, on Wednesday as the Sea Dogs took the series lead, 2-0. Portland used the three-run sixth inning to take the 6-2 advantage over Binghamton in a day game for Baseball in Education Day.

Binghamton right-hander Channing Austin was expected to make his Double-A debut but was a late scratch, which led to left-hander Gabby Rodriguez making his first Minor League start since 2021.

Jorge Polanco, on his rehab assignment, got on the board at the bottom of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. He was recovering from a wrist and Achilles injury after 14 games with the New York Mets. Polanco led off the game with a single. He later scored off an error from Portland third baseman Anbram Liendo on a ground ball from center fielder Jose Ramos.

D’Andre Smith tallied his third double of the year, and Jose Ramos has a 10-game on-base streak.

Thursday, May 28 - Sea Dogs - 10  Rumble Ponies - 9

The Rumble Ponies blew a seven-run lead to the Sea Dogs, who pulled away with eight unanswered runs to win 10-9 from Mirabito Stadium.

The slug fest began in the bottom of the fourth inning as Binghamton put up seven runs behind two homers to take a 9-2 lead.  Portland answered immediately at the top of the fifth, scoring six runs on five hits off of right-hander Jordan Geber. Binghamton made four errors in the game, and it cost them over the final four frames.

Jose Ramos hit his team's eighth homer of the year. He set a season high with four RBIs; Chris Suero tied a franchise record of four stolen bases; JT Schwartz has all four of his homers over the last eight games; D’Andre Smith hit his fourth double of the year; Eli Serrano III has 17 extra-base hits, which leads the team, and Jacob Reimer reached base four times with a career-high three stolen bases.

Friday, May 29, - Rumble Ponies - 5  Sea Dogs - 4

In the second extra-inning game of the series, Binghamton pulled past Portland to win their first game of the series, 5-4, at Mirabito Stadium. In the bottom of the 10th inning, with infielder Raudelis Martinez on the mound for Portland, catcher Chris Suero delivered the walk-off single to score designated hitter TT Bowens.

It was Binghamton’s fourth walk-off win of the year, putting the team at 4-1 in extra-inning games. Jorge Polanco was in his second rehab assignment, Jaylen Palmer notched his first RBI of the year, a go-ahead double, Wyatt Young extended his hit streak to six, totaling eight multi-hit games, and Felipe De La Cruz holds the best ERA at 1.65.

Saturday, May 30 - Rumble Ponies - 4  Sea Dogs - 3

For the second night in a row, the Rumble Ponies walked off the Sea Dogs, 4-3, from Mirabito Stadium. Binghamton catcher Chris Suero led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a walk and later got to second off a wild pitch from Portland right-hander Erik Rivera. Right fielder Eli Serrano III walked two batters, and it set up first and second for the Ponies.

Suero ignited a double steal, forcing Portland catcher Johanfran Garcia to throw to third. Still, third baseman Ahbram Liendo could not pick the low throw, and it went into left field, allowing Suero to score the winning run. On back-to-back nights, Chris Suero is the hero after hitting a walk-off single last night. Binghamton now has five walk-off victories this season.

Sunday, May 31 - Sea Dogs - 3  Rumble Ponies - 1

In the final game of this six-game series, Binghamton fell to the Sea Dogs, 3-1, and won the series, 4-2.

The Rumble Ponies led 1-0 into the top of the seventh inning and had just allowed three hits entering the inning, but Portland took advantage of a Binghamton error to capture a 3-1 lead. With the bases loaded, Sea Dogs shortstop Franklin Arias skied a fly ball to left field that Binghamton left fielder Jose Ramos had trouble tracking, and it bounced off his glove, allowing all three base runners to score.

T Schwartz recorded his first three-hit game of the year and hit his fifth homer over his last 10 games, and Marco Vargas recorded his sixth multi-hit game.
