
Rumble Ponies’ Seven-Game Series Recap Against Fisher Cats
April 28th through May 3rd, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies were in Manchester, New Hampshire, for a seven-game series with the Fisher Cats.

Game 1 - Tuesday - Fisher Cats - 6 Rumble Ponies - 0
The Rumble Ponies got no-hit by five New Hampshire pitchers and fell in game one at Delta Dental Stadium. Right-hander Jackson Wentworth (2-1), right-hander Nate Garkow, right-hander Irv Carter IV, and left-hander Kai Peterson combined to throw New Hampshire's third nine-inning no-hitter in franchise history and fifth overall no-hitter. The Ponies have been no-hit twice this season, each in the last nine days.
Games 2 & 3 - Wednesday - Doubleheader
Game 2 - Fisher Cats - 8 Rumble Ponies - 2
Game 3 - Fisher Cats - 5 Rumble Ponies - 3
Game 2 - Binghamton scored two runs in the first inning against right-hander Chris McElvain (1-0) on first baseman Nick Lorusso’s RBI hit and left fielder TT Bowens’ sacrifice fly. New Hampshire scored eight unanswered runs with three runs in the second inning and four runs in the third inning off right-hander Will Watson (0-4). The Fisher Cats also scored a run in the fifth inning.
Game 3 - The Rumble Ponies scored two runs in the first inning and added another run in the fourth inning. That was all for scoring for Binghamton. New Hampshire then scored five unanswered runs to win the game 5 to 3. Nick Lorusso went 2-for-3 in Game One and recorded his second multi-hit game…First baseman JT Schwartz went 1-for-4 in Game Two and extended his on-base streak to eight games
Game 4 - Thursday - Rumble Ponies - 6 Fisher Cats - 3
It took 4 games, but the Rumble Ponies defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 6 to 3 on Thursday night. Binghamton trailed 2-0 heading into the fourth inning before scoring six unanswered runs. Parada went 3-for-5 with a go-ahead RBI hit and a run scored, which marked his first multi-hit game of the season. First baseman TT Bowens went 2-for-5 with two doubles, which marked his first hits as a member of the New York Mets organization, and third baseman Nick Lorusso went 1-for-4 with a single and a walk and extended his on-base streak to six games
Game 5 - Friday - Fisher Cats - 11 Rumble Ponies - 4
The Rumble Ponies dropped their fourth game over their last five to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. New Hampshire put up six runs in the bottom half of the first inning off right-hander Jordan Geber (1-2), who made his third start of the season.
On the upside, Jose Ramos had a big night for Binghamton, cashing in three RBIs and smacking his third in the top of the eighth inning, scoring second baseman Diego Mosquera, who had a two-hit game and reached base all three times. Ramos is riding a four-game hit streak after Friday's game, and JT Schwartz knocked in his fourth run of the season.
Game 6 - Saturday - Suspended
Saturday's game at Delta Dental Stadium ended with the Fisher Cats leading 2 to 1 in the bottom of the fourth inning due to inclement weather after an hour and 19-minute delay. The rest of the game was to be made up on Sunday, along with a 7-inning game for game 7.
Games 6 & Game 7 - Sunday
Game 6 (resumed from Saturday) - Fisher Cats - 4 Rumble Ponies - 3
In the bottom of the fourth inning, right-hander Brian Metoyer struck out shortstop Jay Harry to strand the bases loaded to keep the score 2-1 Fisher Cats. In the bottom of the sixth inning, right fielder Eddie Micheletti Jr. slammed a two-run shot over the right field wall to give the Fisher Cats a 4-1 lead. New Hampshire had two hits in the game, and they accounted for all four runs.
The Rumble Ponies found some life in the ninth inning as left fielder Jose Ramos drove in third baseman Jacob Reimer on an RBI single to make it 4-2. Ramos had five RBIs in the series. Then, with two outs, first baseman Nick Lorusso clobbered an RBI double to cut the deficit to 4-3. Right fielder TT Bowens lined out to right field to end the game.
Game 7 - Sunday - Rumble Ponies - 3 Fisher Cats - 0
For the third time in this series, Binghamton struck first, and they did so with four hits in the top of the first inning of this 7-inning game. Designated hitter Kevin Parada drove in a run on a groundout, and first baseman JT Schwartz followed with an RBI single to make it 2-0 Rumble Ponies. Schwartz tallied his second multi-hit game of the season.
Left-hander Zach Thornton made his fifth start for Binghamton and set a season high with seven strikeouts over 4.0 innings, allowing just three hits. Right-hander Douglas Orellana (2-0) got the win, pitching one inning and striking out two.
