Baseball is scheduled to return to Binghamton in a few weeks and the Rumble Ponies are preparing to start selling tickets for individual games.

Team owner John Hughes said single-game ticket sales will get underway next week.

The Rumble Ponies last played in Binghamton nearly 600 days ago. No games were played in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The team is scheduled to start a 120-game season on the road May 4 against the Rubber Ducks in Akron, Ohio. The home opener is set for 6:35 p.m. on May 11 at NYSEG Stadium when the Rumble Ponies host the Altoona Curve.

Speaking on WNBF Radio's Binghamton Now program, Hughes said the seating plan is being finalized in preparation for the sale of single-game tickets in a few days.

Hughes said "it's likely" that fans initially will have to demonstrate they've received a Covid vaccine or they've tested negative before attending a game. He said details are still being worked out with the Broome County health department.
